Step-by-step walkthrough on finding verified BGMI tournaments, registering your squad, preparing custom room IDs, and understanding the official 10-point scoring system.
Table of Contents
1. Finding Verified Tournaments
Not all community tournaments are organized equally. On Game Zone, look for tournaments marked with the "Verified Arena" status. These events guarantee strict adherence to scheduled start times, active referee moderation, and reliable prize fulfillment without predatory entry fees.
Bookmark the Game Zone Events page and filter by "Registration Open" to catch new slot drops before brackets fill up.
2. Squad Requirements & Character IDs
To prevent smurfing and banned account evasion, competitive BGMI tournaments require each squad member to have an account level of at least 35. Make sure your team captain collects every player numeric Character ID and exact in-game name (IGN) ahead of time.
3. Custom Room Check-in & Passwords
Tournaments run on private Custom Rooms created by the organizer. The Room ID and Password are shared in the match lobby 15 to 20 minutes before the scheduled match drop. Always ensure your squad occupies the exact Slot Number assigned to your team on the bracket to prevent accidental team displacement.
Have your designated IGL (In-Game Leader) enter the room first to verify the slot, followed immediately by teammates.
4. Understanding the 10-Point Scoring Matrix
Modern BGMI competitions follow the official BGIS/BMPS points structure: 1st place receives 10 points, 2nd gets 6, 3rd gets 5, 4th gets 4, 5th gets 3, 6th gets 2, and 7th-8th receive 1 point. In addition, every confirmed finish awards 1 kill point. This places a premium on balancing early frags with strategic late-game compound control.
5. Screen Recording & Fair Play Protocol
During quarter-finals and finals, tournament marshals may request internal screen recordings from the top-scoring teams. Recordings must clearly capture touch markers, in-game audio, and team communications. Using modified GFX tools, iPad perspective injectors on mobile, or root-level scripts results in an immediate permanent ban.
Ensure your phone has at least 15 GB of free storage to prevent recording cutoffs during long 3-match rotations.
